How it all started...
Christian Center of Fort Worth started in 1964 by father and son Boyd and Gary McSpadden. Known for their musical talents, they began holding services in the historic Haltom Theater. The congregation soon grew large enough to purchase the current location on 28th Street in Fort Worth, Texas. As Gary's music ministry grew, he decided to travel full time and join The Gaither Vocal Band. The church just celebrated their 50th birthday with the current Pastors Steve and Gaye Vanzant, who started in 1992.
One year later the Vanzant's started a well known food outreach and holiday feeding ministry for the community and has no intention of stopping. After 30 years the ministries have grown to serve upwards of 1200 people on major holidays including weekly free groceries from the Leah Vanzant Community Life Center. Because of our gracious donors and church members, no one is ever charged for the services from the ministries.
